Two great early albums (now out of print) have been combined by the Rebel label into this one budget release that includes most of the very best performances by the Front Porch String Band. The first of the group’s work appeared on an LP in 1983, and included such songs as HILLS OF ALABAM', GO MY WAY, THE SINGER, and the group’s memorable version of WABASH CANNONBALL—all of these songs are here in their original versions, combined with some wonderful cuts from the later record Lines & Traces: HARD TIMES, NATCHEZ TRACE, I FOUND YOU and SOME MORNING SOON. A great and important collection.
